Audeze Penrose unboxing and review - wireless audio and 100mm drivers?!

This is an unboxing and review of the Audeze Penrose, a wireless gaming headset from Audeze which is essentially a more affordable wireless version of the Audeze Mobius that I saw and reviewed previously (Audeze Mobius unboxing and overview -...).

Now, one of the best gaming headsets I've tried has been upgraded with wireless connectivity. Fantastic on paper, but is it still great? Watch to find out.

Note, there are two different versions of this headset, the Penrose (seen here) and the Penrose X. The X works with Xbox and the standard version with PlayStation.

Highlights of this headset include:
- Closed back design with passive noise cancellation
- Large 100mm drivers offer loud sound
- Upto 50Khz frequency response results in excellent quality
- Broadcast quality microphone (used for this voice over)
- Comfort premium design with robust feel
- Dual connectivity means you can listen to bluetooth and wireless signals at the same time

Lowlights:
- Some white noise when not in use for audio
- Cannot be used in wired mode for high res 96Khz audio like the Mobius
- Won't work plugged into a phone via USB-C
- Mic isn't good at preventing pop sounds
- Battery life is less than they claim (or it feels it)
- "Connected" nag when you're just out of range.
