US Warns Tehran Of “Severe Consequences” After Navy Destroyers Down Iranian Missiles Aimed At Israel

The Biden administration reaffirmed US support for Israel after Iran’s ballistic missile attack as Israel battled Iranian missile attack. Tehran launched over 200 ballistic missiles in what it called a “retaliatory” attack on Israel over the killing of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in July and more recently Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and an IRGC commander in Beirut. The White House described the barrage as “defeated and ineffective,” ordering the US military to aid Israel’s defence against any future assaults. “Make no mistake, the United States is fully, fully, fully supportive of Israel,” US President Joe Biden said. US Vice-President Kamala Harris condemned the attack by Iran, saying “Tehran is a destabilising, dangerous force in the Middle East.” The US warned that there would be “severe consequences” for Iran after its missile attack against Israel.
