How to turn OFF Google Photos sync

If you don't want to use up all your 15 GB free space of your Google Account, I suggest you to turn OFF the photos and videos sync to the Google Photos. By default, Google Photos automatically backup all the photos and videos. Which is good if you've got unlimited space. But, now that the google storage is limited to only 15 GB, backup on Google Photos is not an option, unless you pay the monthly fee. So, instead you could backup on a hard disk. But, I think backing up on a Cloud in additional to the hard disk is the safest option if you got the spare money.

NOTE:  Google Photos has changed the name from "Back up & sync" to simply Backup. Once you Turn OFF the Backup, then Google Photos won't upload it to the cloud. You'd still be able to view the photos & video from Google Photos, but they're not synced as they're not backed up. Without backup, Google Photos App work just as a photo & video viewer. In a nutshell, the above method is still valid.
