Context if you are familiar with the show: This is the sequence round, where you guess what's written on the fourth card, meaning, leaving aside the fact that this was an incredible piece of knowledge this was from Aaron (that all the red properties in UK monopoly added to £680, and that all dark blue properties added to £750), they also guessed which one would come last correctly, because this could easily have been in ascending order, but wasn't, and could equally have been descending (admittedley would've been weirder), and could've done something even stranger, like been descending the rainbow colours (it's Only Connect after all). This is also, as far as I know, the second time a team got 5 points for an answer in the show's history, at the time. Earlier in the fourth series it was also done. This is S04 E16, the final, making it all the more impressive, where the winner of the episode would win the series and the trophy etc, this team - the Epicureans, did go on to win the episode after a thunderous missing vowels round. Context if you are unfamiliar with the show: Only Connect is a British gameshow where two teams receive alternating questions that require general knowledge, logic, and general nerdiness to grasp. In the first round, the format is similar to this but instead of guessing the fourth item, the contestants have to guess what links all of the cards being shown, and the fewer cards you see, the more points you get. Contestants can ask for the next card at any time, but being able to see two, and getting the correct answer, will only give you 3 points, then seeing three gives you 2 points, then seeing all four will give you 1 point. Generally, the connection becomes clearer the more you see, with the third and fourth being the most obvious (except in these odd chain cases, where you might either see it straight away or probably not at all). Now, bear with me, in the second round the same kind of principle applies but instead of guessing the connection alone, you need to guess the fourth item in the sequence, you can only be shown a total of three cards. Essentially, you need to realise the connection and THEN get the final item in the sequence. This team (really just the guy on the right), worked out the context, the likely connection, and the correct piece of the sequence. On a final note, this hardly ever happens in the show, even after 16+ series and several hundred episodes, this one just sticks out to me, that it was actually right. And now, you're welcome to read the additional context for familiar viewers, just at the top! All rights to the BBC, just wanted to upload the clip without the episode, I do not profit at all from this video.
