There's no better way to keep your hands and fingers warm on a cold winter day than with the Zippo Outdoor Hand Warmer. It's easy to use and will generate heat for up to 12 hours.
Inside the Hand Warmer box you'll find a detailed Instruction Manual. Read the Manual thoroughly before use. If you have any questions about the operation or performance of your Hand Warmer call Zippo Outdoor Customer Relations at (814) 368-2700.
In addition to the Instruction Manual you'll also find the Hand Warmer, the fuel Fill Cup and Warmer Bag.
To get started remove the Lid from the Hand Warmer. Then remove the Catalytic Burner.
Now, we're ready to fill the Hand Warmer. Your Hand Warmer is engineered to work best with Zippo Lighter Fluid. As an alternative, Ronson lighter fluid is also acceptable.
On the Fill Cup you'll see two marked lines -- one indicating the amount of fuel required for 6 hours of operation and the other for 12 hours. Do not fill above the 12-hour line.
In this example we'll be filling up the Hand Warmer for 12 hours of operation.
Slowly pour fuel into the Fill Cup until the level reaches the 12- hour line. Now, slowly and carefully pour the fuel into the absorbent cotton through the burner opening.
Next, take the Catalytic Burner and replace it into its original position.
Before lighting wait about two minutes for the fuel to be fully distributed and available to the Catalytic Burner.
Also, before you light your Hand Warmer check to make sure no fuel spilled on nearby surfaces and that the cover to your fuel bottle is completely closed. If any fuel is on the surface of the Hand Warmer simply wipe it off or wait a short time for it to evaporate.
To light your Hand Warmer hold the base with one hand and use your other to apply flame from a Zippo lighter, utility lighter, or match to the Catalytic Burner. Hold the flame to the Catalytic Burner for approximately 10 seconds. Depending on conditions, such as wind if you're lighting outdoors, you might have to repeat this lighting process until ignition is achieved.
You'll know ignition has occurred when you feel heat radiating from the body of the Hand Warmer. When you feel warmth place the lid back in position and place the Hand Warmer in the warming bag.
Your Zippo Hand Warmer is meant to operate while inside the warming bag. It's not to be held in your bare hands or exposed to bare skin.
When your hands are warm you can simply place the Hand Warmer in a pocket where it will continue to generate heat until you want to warm your hands again.
