In the video, we talked about summer vacations in Albania, food prices in Saranda, markets, the city beach, money exchange, card payments, public transport, the behavior of Albanians on the roads and many other topics, walking along the main promenade in Saranda.
Due to the amount of information, the video had to be divided into two parts. This is the first part, and a sequel will be released in a few days, which should also be looked at in order to get a complete picture.
Let's supplement the video with just a few more pieces of information:
- in shops and restaurants it is possible to pay in euros, but, of course, the exchange rate is somewhat less favorable, and for that reason it is recommended to change the euro into Albanian medicines
- prices, very often, are not prominent and very often you will have to chase the seller or waiter to tell you how much a particular product
- In restaurants, it can happen that they offer you something that is not on the menu. Then the price is determined, most often, deductively, so it is recommended that even if they offer you something outside the menu, before ordering, clarify in detail what the price is and for how many people
- portions in restaurants are not too large (less than those in Serbia)
- you will not get fiscal bills almost anywhere (maybe only in some larger supermarket)
- There is free wi-fi in almost every facility, so you only need to look for access codes
- The internet signal is very good
- if, in addition to the abolition of roaming, you need additional traffic (or internet) from Albania, the cards of the mobile operator Vodafone are most often mentioned
- The primary language of communication is English, and both Italian and German are used. In some restaurants, they also know the basics of the Serbian language due to the number of tourists from Serbia, which has been expanding in recent years
