Himalayan Salt Lamp Care & Safety

Himalayan Pink Salt is 250 million years old (!!), and with proper care, your Himalayan Salt Lamp will adorn your home for many, many years. If you live in a humid climate, make sure your Lamp always has a working light bulb, and keep your Lamp turned on 24 hours every day, or as often as possible. The heat from the light bulb will keep the Salt warm, enabling it to evaporate the moisture it naturally attracts from the air.  Without the heat from the light bulb, the Salt may become moist, drip or even melt, damaging the electrical cable. If this happens, you can resurrect your lamp by gentling wiping it with a damp cloth, or even sandpaper to remove crusty dried salt. If your cable has worn out or broken, we have additional ones available for sale; please contact us below. For safety reasons, always unplug your Himalayan Salt Lamp before changing the light bulb or wiping it with a wet cloth.
