Homity Pie | Cheese Potato Leek

Nobody seems to know what a homity is, but I do know that homity pie is delicious. Homity pie is an open-topped pie or flan filled with potatoes, cheese, onion and leeks. Homity pie was invented during WW2 when food was rationed and meat was scarce. In the Sixties, homity pie was popularized by Cranks Vegetarian Restaurant in London. At the time vegetarianism was fairly uncommon, but these days it isn't and homity pie is one of those welcome vegetarian dishes that isn't trying to emulate a meaty version. No homities were hurt during the making of this video.
