How to use lemon juice to prevent browning of fruit

IngredientsSliced apple1 tablespoon of lemon
Ingredients
Sliced apple
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
200ml of water
Method
1. Slice apples
2. Mix 1 tablespoon of lemon juice with 200 ml of water
3. Pour over the cut apples and leave for 3 minutes
4. Drain liquid and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator
The lemon juice mixture will prevent browning for around 3 to 4 hours. Using only lemon juice will keep apple free of discolouration for at least 6 hours.
Salt and water can also be using to prevent enzymic browning.
