Mirror image handwriting may seem impractical, but when this task is performed with the non-dominant hand, mirroring your dominant hands form, you'll find that the strong hand will improve more quickly.

Who wouldn't want quicker results? I was surprised when I first began to notice this, but today I take advantage of this mirror image secret in everything I do, and I consider it to be the most powerful technique to practical penmanship practice.

I find the mirror image technique a very practical approach for anyone interested in improving their handwriting more quickly.

Practical handwriting techniques all require time and patience, so, you'll need to have perseverance in any pursuit of practical penmanship.

Mirror writing can help you in a multitude of ways, for example, this exercise also initiates changes in the wiring of the brain. This allows you to progress with the exercise but it also results in some chemical changes within the brain. Similar to the way exercise produces endorphins and hormones within the brain and body, mirror writing will also leave you on what could be compared to a runners high.

Mirror writing was practiced by Leonardo da Vinci, and although it is argued why he might have done so, he was one of the most creative and inventive minds western society has come to know.

Mirror writing is also very common among people who dyslexic, but don't you think that if we could read forward and backward (mirror writing) this problem would not exist?

Ambidextrous handwriting takes time and perseverance. It has taken me six years to get to this skill level and I still can feel the inequality between my hands. But embracing penmanship with both hands has been the most practical long term investment in myself that I have ever made.

This creative style of cursive comes with so many benefits. Through ambidextrous mirror writing I have found myself sleeping better, thinking more creatively, having more energy, heightened attention span, more confidence, and less anxiety. I can also speak more fluidly impromptu in front of groups of people.

Many of my students have also experience the accelerated learning effect that seems to come as a results of ambidextrous penmanship. This accelerated learning make ambidextrous mirror image cursive the most practical penmanship drill anyone could embrace. #PracticalPenmanship
