Julieth Lozano Rolong
Soprano from Colombia - 31 years old. Singing in Round 4/Recital 3
"I was born and raised in Bogota and graduated with a Masters and an Artist Diploma in Opera from the Royal College of Music. In 2019/20 I studied at the National Opera Studio in London. I was the 2018 recipient of the President’s Award, a finalist in the 2020 Kathleen Ferrier Competition and in 2022 I was the first prize winner of Opera Festival Scotland’s Young Artists Singing Competition.
I have performed Vixen The Cunning Little Vixen for Longborough Festival Opera, Zerlina Don Giovanni at the Verbier Festival and Tytania Midsummer Night’s Dream for Opera al Parque Colombia.
In the 2022/23 season I joined the Jeune ensemble at the Grand Théâtre Genève; roles there include Blumenmädchen Parsifal, Aksinia Lady Macbeth of Mtsenk and Anna Nabucco. Other highlights of the season included my debut at Scottish Opera as Nuria in Osvaldo Golijov’s Ainadamar and my role debut as Susanna Le nozze di Figaro at my native Teatro Mayor.
Future engagements include return visits to Welsh National Opera for Nuria Ainadamar and Longborough Festival Opera for Woodbird Siegfried.
To me, friends and family are the most important things. I love to connect with like-minded people through dancing, reading and sharing tasty traditional cuisines from around the world."
