Would I Still Use PHP in 2024?

Is PHP still the best option for a server side scripting language in 2024? Would I still use or recommend PHP for use to power a website? In this video I share my thoughts on the State of PHP and if it's still the king of server side languages.

I also share some of the market stats when it comes to which language dominates (hint, it's PHP with over 76% market share) and also how WordPress still uses PHP.

As always, choosing a programming language requires you to determine what your project calls for when it comes to the language you choose.

If you're working on a dynamic website that's interacting with a database like MySQL or MariaDB, then PHP is most likely going to meet your needs.

It should also be mentioned that PHP developers are in high demand and the annual income for PHP Developers is very respectable.
