On September 11, Karnataka’s Mandya district witnessed a violent clash between two groups during a Ganesh procession. Tensions escalated when the procession halted and danced in front of a Dargh, leading to confrontations with another group who demanded that the procession move on. The disagreement resulted in stone-pelting and protests, with the procession group accusing the police of obstructing their Ganesh Visarjan. As the situation deteriorated, both sides exchanged stones, and miscreants vandalized and looted shops, setting them and several vehicles on fire. The police intervened to restore order, but significant damage had already occurred. In response to the unrest, State Home Minister G. Parmeshwara assured that the situation was under control, and efforts were underway to manage the aftermath and prevent further violence. #CommunalClash #Karnataka #GanpatiProcession #Nagamangla #Retaliation #middaynews #news
