Detroit Bureau Chief Aaron Bragman and Senior Research Editor Damon Bell recently tested
the 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum as part of Cars.com’s 2023 Compact SUV Challenge in Palm
Springs, Calif. The Platinum is the top trim level in the Rogue lineup, and its cabin is among the
classiest in the class in terms of both materials and amenities. Excellent passenger space and
smart interior storage solutions are other pluses, as is the surprisingly sprightly acceleration
from the turbo three-cylinder engine. Ride quality and handling are less impressive: The Rogue
is a bit bouncy over bumps and rough pavement, and it’s not as nimble on twisty roads as some
of its rivals. Even so, the Rogue’s practical, well-rounded nature makes it a standout family
vehicle.
