CONCRETE OOBLECK

This has got to be one of our favourite ways to play with oobleck! The girls always have a blast with this, especially with our mini-bricks that they love sticking together with the ‘concrete’.

Incase you’re new to Oobleck it’s a non-Newtonian fluid, which means it acts as a liquid one minute but turns to a solid under pressure! It’s an amazing sensory experience and works perfectly for this set-up!

To make Concrete Oobleck you will need:

Cornflour (also known as Cornstarch)
Water
Black food colouring

1. Add 2 or 3 cups of cornflour to a tray.

2. Add the same amount of water, coloured with a few drops of black food colouring or add the food colouring straight to the tray.

3. Mix it altogether- this takes a little bit of effort at first but as it mixes it becomes easier!

Oobleck is great fun but it can get quite messy so be prepared, either with a sheet under your tray or take it outside.
