मुरादाबाद के पास एक छोटे से गांव कुंदरकी में  बेहद सामन्य परिवार में पली बढ़ी इल्मा अफ़रोज़ आज एक आईपीएस अफसर हैं. पिता एक किसान थे और बेटी को हमेशा पढ़ने के लिए प्रेरित करते थे. पिता के निधन के बाद इल्मा ने खेतों में काम भी किया और पढ़ाई भी. माँ अपनी बेटी के सपनों में उड़ान भरना चाहती थीं इसलिए उसने ज़माने से लड़कर अपनी बेटी को ऑक्सफ़ोर्ड तक में पढ़ाया. क्यों इल्मा विदेश की नौकरी छोड़ कर भारत लौट आई, क्यों उन्होंने  न्यूयोर्क और इंडोनेशिया जैसे शहरों की चकाचौंध भरी ज़िन्दगी ठुकरा दी और कैसे अपने बाबा के सपने को पूरा किया जानिए खुद इस लेक्चर में इल्मा अफ़रोज़ से.
