Sail away with my friend Jen and I on an 'adults only' style Disney Cruise from Rome around the Greek Isles aboard the Disney Dream! In this embarkation day vlog, we stay overnight at Rome Fiumicino Airport at the Hilton, then get the Disney Cruise Line transfer to Civitavecchia to board the Disney Dream ship! It's a day filled with lots of Disney Cruise planning tips and magical fun onboard.

We are sailing, sailing away aboard the Disney Dream, during its inaugural European route! Formerly based in Port Canaveral for short Bahamas sailings, the Disney Dream has taken over the Disney Magic's normal schedule and will be sailing around the Mediterranean, the UK and northern Europe for summer 2023 and summer 2024. The theme of this vlog series is 'can adults have the best time ever on a Disney Cruise without kids?' Spolier alert: yes they can.
In this Disney Cruise Line travel and embarkation day vlog, Jen and I stay at the Hilton Rome Airport hotel before our cruise. We get an evening meal at the hotel and I give you a room tour of a standard king room. During this cruise, we'll be stopping in Greece and Italy. With ports of call in Naples, Mykonos, Santorini and Chania (Crete). We've got an excursion in Pompeii coming up, as well as Remy Brunch, Palo Brunch and Palo Dinner. I'll also be reviewing a full spa day onboard, with three very different Senses Spa services.
To get to the port closest to Rome, we utilise the Disney Cruise Line transfer service. You can book this over the phone in advance with your cruise reservation number. We show you where to go in Rome Airport when boarding your transfer. Worth noting as well, there is no specific time, but it's recommended you arrive with plenty of time to make it to the ship (ideally by 12:45pm). Once at Civitavecchia port, we show you the check-in experience and what the cruise terminal is like.
Once onboard, we visit Senses Spa to buy the Rainforest Room pass for the length of the voyage. It's then on to Animator's Pallete for a sit down lunch, before checking out my Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. I give you a room tour of the typical Disney Cruise Line stateroom configuration and walk you through the NEW Silver 25th Anniversary Castaway Club goodies. It's then off to the Muster Drill, followed by the Sail Away party up on deck 11. Here we see Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Chip, Dale, Daisy, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy sing and dance, as they welcome us aboard our cruise around the Greek Isles and Italy.
Also in this vlog, I show you how much the wifi costs and the wifi packages available. I also order the water package, to see if it's worth the money and how much it adds to the trip. We have our evening meal at Royal Palace, and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail at the Skyline Lounge. I explain what the deal is with VAT onboard a EU sailing and share my fun facts and pro tips throughout the vlog.
