Where are the Best Places to Eat Good/Budget Food in BGC, Metro Manila, Philippines. I was surprised to find that in the upmarket Food Courts in Shopping Malls in BGC you can eat at less than $3.

I love food. But I don’t live to eat, I eat to stay alive. And when I read through menus I’m generally drawn to dishes that aren’t gonna cost me an arm and a leg.

The first food court in BGC I tried was at Uptown Food court. There are a number of diners dotted around Uptown mall, but the food court is located on the top floor of the Mall. It was actually my first night in Manila, having just arrived from Kuala Lumpur and I went to Burger Beast where I paid 250 pesos for burger and fries, which wasn’t very satisfying. The burger wasn’t really a beast and the portion of fries was just a handful, so hardly a feast at all. So I haven’t been back there. I’d continually return to Steak Station where you can get 2 burgers, rice and gravy for 145 pesos. I quite like the ambience of this food court. It doesn’t really get very busy, or hasn’t been early evening when I’ve visited.

On Bonafacio High Street is Food District Signatures on 5th Avenue in the basement of One Bonafacio High Street. The first time I visited I’d been drinking nearby and came here around 8pm. I didn’t really like the place as it felt a bit too pretentious. I ate at Seoul Good which was a poor choice.
I also thought the prices at a lot of the places were higher than at Uptown.
But I was eating on 5th Avenue. Ha! The next meal I had here was at Zack’s Burgers which was 280 pesos, slightly more expensive, but a much better experience than Burger Beast. I’ve also eaten Indonesian food at Bakmi Nyonya and noodles at Hen Lin. But wasn’t that impressed. Doesn’t compare at all with the noodle soups you can eat on the streets of Vietnam for a fraction of the price. But I warmed to the place by my third visit. It feels like a good place to dine, which other customers also feel as in the evenings it gets pretty busy.

And so to Food Choices at Market Market mall. This food court the most affordable as there are many options to eat at low prices. I’ve eaten here at Mr. Ninja and Steak Break. But it’s also on of the busiest food courts located in a busy shopping mall and doesn’t feel like a place you wanna relax after you’ve eaten.

However on the other hand and other side of the road is the Food on Four food court situated in SM Aura which has a much nicer setting. I like the ambience and space here. Have returned to Food on Four a couple of times to the Eat Pinay stall for their chicken adobo and rice where  you can get a decent portion of chicken for 215 pesos. Probably my favorite out of the 4 food courts in BGC, but food choices here come at a higher price.
