How can I meditate while praying the Rosary?

How do we meditate on the mysteries of the Rosary while praying the decades?  When I pray the ten Hail Marys, I focus on the meaning and on the words of the Hail Mary without focusing on the mystery.  I find it difficult to try to pray the Hail Mary while trying to picture in my mind the mystery at the same time. So, what exactly is meant by meditating on the mystery while praying the Holy Rosary?
