Das Modalverb "müssen" is the 4th modal verb you learn and did you know there is a nice alternative which you can use instead of "nicht müssen"? It's called: "Nicht brauchen zu". More about this verb "nicht brauchen zu" in my bonus tip at the end of this video. In this video you can learn the 4 different situations when and how to use the modal verb "müssen". Conjugation and lots of examples to every situation. "Müssen" is a proper modal verb which means you need a second verb at the end of the sentence but there is also one specific situation where you can use "müssen" as a main verb.
