The further players push into RETURNAL, the more powerful they become. This is owed to the items they find along the way, and to artifacts especially, which grant Selene a variety of game-changing abilities. Artifacts of particular power include Adrenaline Stimulants and Adrenaline Cooldown, as well as Overload Bolts. In this clip I carry the first two, but the latter items I lack—and their absence is keenly felt in this video. Rather than Selene emitting two energy bolts when I Overload my weapon, inflicting damage sufficient to terminate two of two Anomi flitting about the arena, each Anomos must be individually eliminated.
