As we're in a new quarter, it's time to go over what's in my wallet for the second quarter of 2024! And this quarter is particularly exciting as I recently got married, and so now we've activated Player 2 mode!
As my core credit card setup has remained stable for the previous 2 quarters with the US Bank Altitude Reserve, Bilt Mastercard, Bank of America Premium Rewards Elite, Amex Platinum, and Bank of American Customize Cash Rewards Card, it's nice to add her cards to our portfolio and to see how they can help our rewards earnings overall.
My wife has a total of 7 credit cards: the Chase Sapphire Preferred, the Chase Freedom Flex, the Chase Freedom Unlimited, the Citi Custom Cash, the Citi Costco VISA, the Bank of America Customized Cash, and the Barclays Banana Republic Mastercard.
What's nice about both of our setups is that they're complimentary to each other - in the sense that - she doesn't have any Amex cards, and I don't have the Chase or Citi cards that she has. We also have 2 BofA CCRs between the two of us and a Citi Custom cash for some good options for 5% cash back on multiple everyday categories.
As my wife also has a Chase Sapphire Preferred, I can connect my account to hers, and I can have access to Chase's transfer partners - something that I was missing from my credit card strategy from before!
