A playthrough of Konami's 1994
A playthrough of Konami's 1994 platformer for the Super NES, Sparkster.
Played through on hard mode.
Sparkster is one of my favorite SNES platformers. The Genesis version (which is a totally different game) is great, but there's something special about this one. The graphics and sound are gorgeous, even by Konami standards, and the game play is beyond smooth - once you get into a rhythm, this game can feel a lot like Sonic the Hedgehog in how fast it moves and how well designed the level layouts are.
It's also extremely hard, which is one of it's best points. Not annoying or unfair, but it makes you work for the skillset that you need to finish it. I played this on hard because that's the highest level I can beat it at without dying, and because on Hard you get to see all of the levels and get the (almost) best ending. The only difference between the end here and in the crazy hard mode, though, is that the text changes from "Now challenge very hard mode" to "Congratulation". I didn't feel like I missed much out by playing it on hard here :)
