The thoroughbred has the Kentucky Derby. The quarter horse has the All American Futurity. This Labor Day classic determines who makes the starting gate by running 28 trials and nearly 280 horses competed in the trials for this $2.6 million dollar final run in Ruidoso, New Mexico with the gorgeous rugged Sierra Blanca mountain as the backdrop.
