Fade (Taper) a Photoshop Brush with a Mouse (No Graphics Tablet)

By default, a Photoshop brush will draw with a consistent width. The Brush Settings panel can be opened via the Window menu. Click on the Shape Dynamics section, making sure the check mark is on. Set the Control option to Fade. The Brush will now fade based on the number in the field next to the Control drop down. The total distance of the fade is also affected by the brush Size and the Spacing which are found in the Brush Tip Shape section of the Brush Settings panel.
