The armored amphibious assault vehicle, also known as the Amtrac, is a combat vehicle designed to transport troops and equipment from military ships to shore and to support ground operations. Amtrac was developed primarily for the United States Marine Corps. The current model in service is the AAV-7A1, which has been in operation since the early 1970s.

Providing versatility in various combat scenarios and capable of moving on land and water, the AAV-7A1 has a tracked design to operate both on land and in water. In this context, there are 2 water jets in the vehicle for movement in water. The AAV-7A1 can carry up to 25 fully equipped Marines and their equipment, or a payload of approximately 3000 kg.
