Huntsman spider making her egg sac #2

It's been 7 years since my last Huntsman egg sac video. Obviously this is a different gal, and this time I've managed to get some XCUs (extreme close-ups) of her amazing butt action!

Hanna (for that is her name) is fastidiously laying down layer after gossamer-thin layer of silk, gradually building up the thickness of her protective egg sac over a number of hours. Inside are upwards of 200 tiny green eggs.

When finished with the delicate manufacturing process, she's then officially on Guard Duty for a whole 28 days - during which time not even a mere morsel of insect will pass her lady-like spider lips, for her one purpose over the next month is solely to ensure the survival of her progeny - so do not approach her, you have been warned!

When she feels the time is just right, she will then chew a small hole in the top of the sac, and her tiny spiderlings will begin to emerge, and begin their journey into spiderhood :-)
