We stayed at Torquay Holiday
We stayed at Torquay Holiday Park in Devon for 3 nights in October '21. This is a Parkdean family Holiday resort situated on the outskirts of Torquay. Exact address is Kingskerswell Rd, Torquay TQ2 8JU.
We booked a Malvern Caravan, 2 bedrooms but suitable to sleep 6 (apparently?) With plenty of caravans and plenty of hills this is quite a large resort, which has pool with flume, entertainment venue, crazy golf, arcade, bars, football pitch plus onsite shop and launderette.
We have captured all there was to see and do on the park so it will allow you to make up your mind on whether this is a place you want to stay for a UK break in the Torbay Region.
With this part of the country being a hotspots for tourists, with the likes of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham all being within a 20 minute drive, you have the choice of resorts to stay at.
So ..here is our full and honest review of our stay at this park.
Entertainment was top notch for kids, with the Starland crew keeping the kids amused and the play area was also a hit along with the large arcade they have, but, swimming pool was bit basic with one flume. So when the pool was busy and with you only being allowed 45 minute sessions, do not expect to be going down it often.
Food on this site was better than a lot of others as are the prices, but, lack of staff resulting in10-15 minute waits being the norm at the bar in the entertainment venue, put us off.
Then there was the caravan itself, ours was in the region of £280 for 3 nights, not the most expensive, but not the cheapest.
Not enough sheets were provided, and a broken door latch on the caravan prevented us from being able to secure it. As it was at the bottom of the park, WIFI was none existent and it meant it was quite a walk to get anywhere (Fortunately it did not rain much during our stay).
On a positive note though, the staff that they did have, all seemed to be working their socks off and were very friendly.
Million dollar question of would we stay there again? Unfortunately, we found that the negatives slightly outweighed the positives.
As mentioned with all the competition in the region, the resorts do need to try and ensure that there are no negatives. On this park the accommodation itself i.e. the caravan was that bit too run down, and the lack of staff put us off.
