Hakkı Akdeniz's story is a touching tale filled with determination and perseverance. Born in 1984 in the Silvan district of Diyarbakır, Hakkı supported his family from a young age by selling desserts and lahmacun to the public. After his father's early death, he went to Canada as a student to provide a better future for his family. However, he was deported three times because he couldn't obtain citizenship.
When he arrived in America, he was deceived by someone he trusted, became homeless, and lived in a shelter for the homeless. He survived by collecting soda cans, working as a dishwasher and caretaker. By participating in pizza competitions, he became a world champion, earning him a green card and recognition. Now he helps the homeless, gives speeches at universities, and inspires people.
