Navigating Agroforestry Futures in Europe Insights from ReForest Project and FarmTree Tool

Welcome to the recording of the ReForest project & FarmTree webinar held on June 27, 2024. In this session, we unveiled the FarmTree Tool, a  digital solution designed to transform agroforestry planning and implementation across Europe.

Prof. Ing. Martin Lukac, PhD, ReForest project coordinator provided an insightful overview of agroforestry, highlighting its historical and modern relevance and the challenges and benefits of reintegrating trees into agricultural systems.

Steffie Rijpkema, MSc, then introduced the FarmTree Tool, explaining how it leverages data from ReForest Living Labs and other sources to design and evaluate agroforestry systems using site-specific data. Marina Alarcón, MSc, showcased real-world applications from the Living Labs, demonstrating the tool’s ability to predict long-term performance across various dimensions. The session concluded with an interactive slido discussion, where participants engaged with the presenters to explore essential digital solutions for European agroforestry practitioners.
