Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG, DBAG or DB) is the German railway company, a private joint-stock company (AG) with the federal government being its majority shareholder with its headquarters in Berlin. It came into existence in 1994 as the successor to the former state railways of Germany, the Deutsche Bundesbahn of West Germany and the Deutsche Reichsbahn of East Germany. It also gained ownership of former railway assets in West Berlin held by the Verwaltung des ehemaligen Reichsbahnvermögens. Its name means "German Railway" in German.
Deutsche Bahn describes itself as the second-largest transport company in the world, after Deutsche Post AG, and is the largest railway operator and infrastructure owner in Europe. It carries about two billion passengers each year.
At its creation, DBAG took over the abbreviation and logo DB from the West German state railway Deutsche Bundesbahn, although it has since modernised the logo. Erik Spiekermann designed the new corporate font DB type.

Der Autozugverkehr Niebüll–Westerland ist ein Autotransportzugangebot im Kreis Nordfriesland in Schleswig-Holstein. Die Züge verkehren zwischen Niebüll und Westerland auf der Insel Sylt über den Hindenburgdamm. Anders als beim Autoreisezug wird nur eine kurze Entfernung von 39 Kilometern zurückgelegt. Die Fahrt mit dem Autozug ist der einzige Weg, um mit Kraftfahrzeugen vom deutschen Festland aus nach Sylt zu gelangen.
Betreiber sind die DB Fernverkehr AG unter der Marke „DB Sylt Shuttle“ sowie die Railroad Development Corporation, die am 18. Oktober 2016 mit ihrer Tochter RDC Deutschland unter der Marke „Autozug Sylt“ als zweiter Autotransportanbieter den regulären Betrieb aufnahm.

Niebüll is a town in the district of Nordfriesland, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated near the North Sea coast and the border with Denmark, approx. 35 km northwest of Husum.

Bombardier TRAXX is a modular product platform of electric and Diesel-electric mainline locomotives built by Bombardier Transportation, built in both freight and passenger variants. The first version was a dual voltage AC locomotive built from 2000 for German railways; later versions include DC versions, as well as quadruple voltage machines, able to operate on most European electrification schemes: 1.5/3.0 kV DC and 15/25 kV AC. The family was expanded to include diesel powered versions in 2006. Elements common to all variants include the steel bodyshells, the two bogies with two powered axles each, the three-phase asynchronous induction motors, the cooling exhausts on the roof edges, and the wheel disc brakes.
The TRAXX brand name itself was introduced in 2003. The acronym stands for Transnational Railway Applications with eXtreme fleXibility. Locomotives were primarily made for the railways of Germany, with orders coming from other countries including France, Israel, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Spain, Hungary and South Africa.
