Stucture Elucidation

A short introduction to how we use spectroscopy to find out the chemical structures of unknown compounds. This video highlights the use of IR spectroscopy to recognise the presence of particular functional groups in organic compounds and UV/Vis spectroscopy to determine whether a compound includes conjugation. It also touches briefly on the extra structural information we can get using mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy.
