Das Bodetal zwischen Treseburg und Thale - DAS Wanderparadies schlechthin. Bekannt auch als der Grand Canyon Made in Germany, eine Wanderung der Superlative, von der schon Johann Wolfgang von Goethe dereinst sagte: "Das gewaltigstes Felsental nördlich der Alpen". Dazu warten mit der wild-romantischen und reißenden Bode ein wunderschöner und naturbelassener Fluß auf uns. Felsklippen und Ausblicke jede Menge. Schließlich erinnert der wild schäumende Bodekessel so schön an die Sage von der Roßtrappe mit dem Riesen Bodo und Brunhilde. Nicht zu vergessen, die Teufelsbrücke. Der Aufstieg zum Hexentanzplatz bietet geniale Fernsichten bis hin zum Brocken. Für Freunde der Kultur bietet der Hexentanzplatz neben der Walpurgishalle, vor allem das sehr empfehlenswerte Bergtheater Thale und den Tierpark. Wer weiter wandert um seine Ruhe zu suchen, wird an der Prinzensicht mit einem neuen wundervollen Ausblick belohnt. Ein idyllischer und mystischer Ort ist das Denkmal für Friedrich Wilhelm Leopold Pfeil, welches im tiefen Wald liegt. Wenig später angekommen am Wilhelms-Blick, bekommen wir erneut Aussichten bis hin zum Brocken, dem höchsten Berg im Harz und auf das tief unten liegende, romantische Treseburg. Den Abend abschließen sollte man jedoch noch mit einem Besuch auf der Roßtrappe. Dort kann sich jeder selbst beim Abdruck im Fels die Frage beantworten, handelt es sich um den Hufabdruck des Riesenpferdes von Brunhilde oder ist es doch eine Kultstätte aus der Zeit vor Christus?
