This short instructional video clip shows the referred pain patterns (reference zones) in patients who suffer from cervical facet syndrome. Cervical facet syndrome arises from injuries (i.e., whiplash, neck sprains) of the joints in the neck (cervical zygapophyseal joints). Each of the Facets or joints in the cervical spine refers nociception (pain) to specific areas in the head, neck, and shoulders. These reference zones are common areas where perceived pain in the head, neck, and shoulders in patients suffering from whiplash, cervical sprain syndromes, head, and neck trauma.
