Hi, my name is Josh Kallenberg and I'm here at the Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, California. I've been flying professionally for about 13 years, and now I have the pleasure of flying this Gulfstream G450 which is a lot of fun and exciting. And today I'm going to talk to you about becoming a pilot. So, some of you might want to learn how to navigate an airplane. There's several methods that we use. Some of the basic step, basic method used for primary training is what we called pilot [dish]. Basically, using references outside buildings, towers, certain mountains as reference, landmark to navigate around. That's usually good for smaller airplanes or when we are in a fast moving jet, when you are coming in the terminal environment or around the airport, you might use that method. One of the primary means in navigation that we use is GPS, Global Positioning System, kinda like never get lost in your car. And you use that in conjunction with our computer or flight management system. Another means of navigation is radio navigation. And that's where we follow electronic signals to certain fixes on the ground or places on the ground. And we can use that on route segments so as we're flying along, there's certain station around, all around the country, around the world where if you are in the range of it we can track and follow that beam to that fix and then continue on.

Okay. Let's say, I want plug my flight plan into the computer. And I will always obviously have to have our departure airport. And I will put my destination airport in this case it would be Las Vegas. There is a certain routing that we have been assigned and I will just plugged that it into our computer here and it will then be displayed on the display unit. And that's pretty much all there's to it.
