Islamic volunteer undertakers in Malaysia overwhelmed by Covid-19 surge

More than 2,000 people have volunteered as undertakers to help conduct burials for Muslim Covid-19 victims in Malaysia. The volunteer group, despite growing in size, is struggling to cope with the country’s latest surge in Covid-19 infections and deaths. On May 28, 2021, Malaysia reported a record 7,000 daily new cases for three consecutive days.
