This system is initially designed for the StarFire stand-alone CNC controller, not Mach3. But with the flexibility offered by Mach3 (customization through macro script), in the end, I was able to make this system works almost natively on my home-built CNC plasma cutting table. This THC system perform exceptionally well (very comparable with more expensive ones), especially for its price. I was able to cut very thin and warped sheet metals (0.5mm thickness) at 6000mm/minute. Because the system wasn't designed for Mach3 and the lack of instructions, I spent a lot of time debugging things: - Writing macro scripts to make the THC system communicate with Mach3 Controller board. - The choices of brushed geared motor and the lead on the leadscrew or ballscrew are very important. The brushed geared motor must have high torque and reasonable rated RPM to move the Z axis in the range of: 1200mm/minute to 2000mm/minute.
