That was the best-quality upload of this music video I could find online. It does not have very good sound quality, so I have replaced the audio track with a high-quality one of the album track, and this involved slowing down the footage slightly, as it was running a bit fast compared to the HQ audio track I am using. It is also out of sync, with its picture running late compared to its sound, so I have fixed that. I have also cropped the bottom edge of the picture, as it does not appear as it should. I have also adjusted the colours slightly, making the dark areas slightly darker. I have also upscaled the resolution from 720p to 1080p, as this increases the bitrate, which slightly improves picture quality at all the different resolution settings the viewer can select, but please be aware that playing it at the 1080p setting is not going to make it look as good as a true 1080p video.
This song was written in 1930 by Walter Donaldson (music) and Gus Kahn (lyrics). This version of it was arranged by Nina Simone, and I have not been able to find out who produced it; no one has been credited as producer. The personnel were:
Nina Simone – vocals, piano, arrangement
Jimmy Bond – double bass
Albert "Tootie" Heath - drums
It was recorded in 1957 and was first released on Nina's 1959 debut album "Little Girl Blue", which did not reach the albums chart in any country. It was first released as a single in 1961, but did not reach the singles chart in any country until 1987 after being used in a UK television commercial for Chanel No. 5 perfume, when it got to No. 1 in the Netherlands, No. 5 in the UK and Switzerland, No. 8 in Austria, No. 9 in France, and No. 36 in Australia.
The above music video was produced in 1987 in England by Aardman Animations and directed by Peter Lord.
