Mixing of Pigments

The photosynthetic pigments of higher plants are divided into two classes, the chlorophylls and carotenoids. These pigments are located on the chloroplast membranes , thylakoids. Chlorophylls absorb mainly red and blue-violet light reflecting green light giving the plants their characteristics green color.
