After tons of planning, plotting, preparation, and persistence, Dr. Starline's plan to get back on Dr. Eggman's side is finally complete! His doppelgängers Surge and Kit are full-bent on destroying Sonic and Tails, (and Starline and Eggman, too!) Eggman's robots are under Starline's control, and Eggman has nowhere to run! Or so he thinks...

Meanwhile, Sonic, Tails, and Belle have been drawn to Eggman's new Eggperial city, and have come to investigate the badniks' odd behavior. Little do they know, they're in for the fight of their lives!
