Largely depends on how long and how severe the dry cough is. In case someone just had a dry cough for a couple of days unlikely that this is related to HIV. On the other hand someone’s been having dry cough and also some other symptoms such as loss of weight, fever that cannot be explained or rashes which haven’t been explained, this could be related to HIV. But in most instances dry cough for a few days is very unlikely to be related to HIV infection.
