The Color of Soul is a cross cultural dialog which narrates the collaborative creative experience of artist Norm Maxwell and Art Dealer/Collector, Jun Suk Moon.

Maxwell’s paintings and urban art are recognizably rich and so unique that art connoisseurs around the globe seek his work. A perfect example is the serendipitous bond established between he and Jun Suk Moon of Seoul, Korea.

It all started one Friday night in 2010 in front of Maxwell’s studio in Los Angeles. Jun, while taking in the scene, the music, and the energy of the time, was instantly drawn to Maxwell’s work which captured the soul of the streets so vividly. Jun believed that Maxwell was on to something, a new conversation, a new language. Work that transcends the canvas and portrays urban and contemporary life full of fractured beauty, love and pain, and strength and acceptance. Jun appreciates how Maxwell’s form and color depicts the musicality and rhythm of the people and the world around him. His work unmasks the human condition and exposes the fragility within. Maxwell paints the triumphs, the tragedies, the party that is life, the fantasy and the funk. Jun bears witness to it all and an artistic connection was born. Jun vowed to one day transport the magic Maxwell captures on canvas to Seoul. Over the years, their relationship has remained rooted in this dream: transcend culture, language, and race, through art.

In June 2015, the universe has answered and the collaboration between Jun and Maxwell has finally come to fruition; arching over land and sea like a meteor and presenting the Norm Maxwell gallery to Seoul, Korea.
