So here it is, my last video of the Pretendolino on its final ever scheduled passenger journey from Birmingham to London on Friday 24th October 2014.
The stock has been leased by Porterbrook and is now being returned so will no longer be used by Virgin Trains. Its fate once in Porterbrooks hands I do not know.
That's the last loco-hauled intercity service on the WCML now gone, the only loco-hauled train is now the sleeper.
Lots of people turned out to give it one final ride. The following day the stock operated a farewell charter from Crewe to Holyhead, but this was its final scheduled passenger service.
Video includes a shot of it passing Milton Keynes on its way north, then the journey on it back to London from Birmingham + a walk through of the entire train once arrived in London.
