Copper deficiency and the importance of differential diagnosis in MDS

Joanna Zurko, MD, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI, explains the importance of identifying copper deficiency early to distinguish it from myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), discussing a patient case study.  This will allow preventing permanent neurological deficits and poor response to allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT).
