No its not calisthenics.

I had an interesting comment recently, that asked me to go over exercises that gain strength without weights. And since there are millions of videos on calisthenics and those videos have very little crossover to sports, I figured I would teach you how to gain strength without weights but in a way that increases your athletic ability.

the main concept here is to do everything with high repetitions through plyometrics until your body adapt. You know, kind of like farmer strength where you just keep doing the same thing over and over and your body is like “ok, I get it, I’ll get stronger.


The better you accelerate the stronger you are. So if you are working on your lower body strength, focusing on things like drop jumps, lunges, and one leg balance drills will do incredible things to your strength. Upper body exercises can consist of negatives with push-ups, pull-ups, and rows with bands but explode after the negative.

you can also make your workouts more dynamic with sandbags, weighted vests, and resistance bands.

You can also gain a lot of strength without weights by increasing your range of motion through static stretching, isometrics, and soft tissue work
