I rescued little Cutie Patootie
I rescued little Cutie Patootie about 7 years ago; it was very late in season (April) and I was convinced that the MOP was mistaken, however when I got into the park in the middle of town, sure enough the MOP had a crying 5 week old Black Flying-Fox pup in a beanie in her backpack. Here is a small compilation of clips from her time in my care.
It's so nice having a late baby coming into care; a single baby is a pleasure you can enjoy, nurture and love to bits, whereas babies coming in and out like a revolving door every day, and multiple babies to feed at midnight can become exhausting and less satisfying.
Because Patootie is a Black Flying-Fox and was a very late baby, she was transferred north to be raised them mini-creched up north. She was raised by the Demented Pixie (Jenny from Coffs), then released from the Bello creche.
Since this was 7 years ago, I expect she's had at least 4 babies now and is probably a grandmother a few times over.
I hope you're out there, planting trees, making babies and flying the night skies my little Cutie Patootie.
Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for me. Tolga is an awesome place in Far North Queensland, which has charity status. By sending donations to them, they get a percentage (and deserve every cent) and they can allocate money to me for batty expenses without it becoming part of my income stream (which makes tax time difficult).

The Giving Fund doesn’t charge any fees (so the bats get more money) but PP doesn’t itemise out the amount, they just send a total every month, and we don’t know if the money is for Tolga or for Megabattie.
