Join me for Flashback Friday. Once a week I will share a classic tour so that the community can watch together.
Perhaps the most complicated border system in the world.
Within this small settlement, there are numerous territories (or enclaves) belonging to the neighbouring country. In order to maintain the influence of both countries upon this town, it is run by two separate municipal authorities, one Dutch, and one Belgian. The duality of this tiny community does not end there, and on this tour, I will show you many more of the eccentricities that are a result of this unique situation.
Together we will cross the border many times and discover the differences and similarities between the two countries. You won't need your passport as we hop between countries, just sit back and see if you can keep track of which country we are in. 🙂
