On the 1st of April, something that isn’t a prank! I ventured to the Keighley Worth Valley Railway after hearing rumours that the line was doing some training runs with some of the engines before the eventual reopening in a few weeks and pretty soon after I arrived, a familiar blast could be heard, and pulling into Keighley was 5820 Big Jim. Over the course of the afternoon, we see this wonderful locomotive pass-through Haworth by the engines shed as 45212 is undergoing preparations before her trek up to Fort William in Scotland for the Jacobite Season, which will be departing from Keighley on the 9th of April.
It was a joy to smell steam and watch it once more and hopefully, it’s just the start of a long steam-filled year!
