Omega Seamaster 300 - Does The Rolex Submariner Even Stand a Chance?!

The new Omega Seamaster 300
The new Omega Seamaster 300 diving watch is sick. In the Omega vs Rolex battle, when you compare it to the Rolex Submariner, it offers watch collectors definitely more value in my opinion!
First of all, at a price of $5,200, it's about half the price of a Rolex Sub (assuming you can even get one from an AD!). Over the years, the Seamaster has also been drastically improved and seen multiple changes, whereas the Sub (with the exception of a few minor changes) is pretty much the same!
During this review, I begin with the history of the Omega Seamaster starting in the 1930s and fast-forward all the way to the current 2020 model.
The current Seamaster is a lot different than the older model. The first thing you'll notice when you look at this luxury watch is that it's bigger than before. The case diameter on the new model is 42mm, vs 41mm for the previous model. It is also a little bit thicker. The Seamaster has always been known as a dressy diver watch, so you can wear it under a suit for a formal look or even change up its metal strap to a Nato and rock it in sports mode.
The new Omega diving watch also comes with an upgraded movement (the reason for the slightly bigger case design). It's an in-house 8800 caliber movement that's METAS certified, which allows it to withstand a 15,000 gauss magnetic field – twice more than the Rolex Milgauss!
The watch is also more accurate than the Submariner, +0.5/-0.5 vs +2/-2 for the Sub.
One thing I'm not thrilled about is the changes they made to the watch's helium escape valve design.
