Picture this: A circuit diagram
Picture this: A circuit diagram of a battery and a switch connected to a pair of wires — each 300,000 km in length — that loop back to a light bulb that is placed 1 m away from that battery and switch.
If you close the switch, how long will it take for the light bulb to light up?
In this video, we use a transient model of signal propagation to address this classic electromagnetics question as well as a more interesting question: What happens to the signal through the bulb over time?
